Assemblyman Scott Gray is celebrating the participation of North Country basketball teams in the 2024 New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) Girls Basketball state tournament. Gray expressed his support for the teams and offered words of encouragement as they prepared for their upcoming games.

"Best of luck to our local girls’ basketball teams as they compete in the 2024 NYSPHSAA Girls Basketball Championships tournament. We’ll be closely watching and cheering for your success. Beyond the court, athletics offer a unique platform for personal growth. Embrace the challenges, savor the victories and let the competition shape not just the game but also the outstanding individuals you are becoming," Gray said.

The tournament features the Hammond Red Devils, Class D, who will face off against the La Fargeville Knights, Class D, at Jefferson Community College. Additionally, the Indian River Warriors, Class A, are set to play against the Catholic Central Crusaders, Class A, at Liverpool High School. The Heuvelton Central Bulldogs, Class C, will also be competing against the Duanesburg Eagles at SUNY Potsdam.

The games are scheduled on different dates and locations, providing an exciting opportunity for the teams to showcase their skills and compete at a high level. Gray's words of encouragement reflect the community's support for these young athletes as they represent the North Country in the state tournament.
