Assemblywoman Blankenbush commented on the recent flooding across District 117, which includes towns and villages in Lewis, Jefferson, Oneida, and St. Lawrence Counties.
"My Assembly District is towns and villages in Lewis, Jefferson, Oneida and St. Lawrence Counties. Although all counties had detrimental impacts from the most recent storm, this time St. Lawrence was hit the hardest, followed by Jefferson, Lewis and Oneida," Blankenbush stated.
She emphasized that her office has been in contact with officials at the county, state, and federal levels to provide support. "My office and I have reached out to officials in each county, the state and federally. We will continue to be on call to offer support through identifying and facilitating resources for assistance."
Blankenbush mentioned that she would delay visiting the affected areas until after the crisis subsides to avoid adding strain on local responders. "We will wait until the crisis has settled to travel to these sites as it is my policy to not add to the work of boots on the ground."
Expressing admiration for her constituents' resilience and public service workers' efforts, she added: "As always, I continue to be impressed by our North Country and Mohawk Valley constituents and those in public service."
For further inquiries or concerns, Blankenbush encouraged contacting her office via email at nabywat@nyassembly.gov or phone at 315-493-3909.
