Senator Mark Walczyk announced that Lesley A. Lanzi was honored at the Senate’s 27th Annual Women of Distinction Ceremony on May 13, 2025. The event recognizes women who have made significant contributions to their communities. Senator Walczyk expressed his admiration for Lanzi’s dedication and service.
Lesley A. Lanzi has been an advocate for non-profit organizations, focusing on healthcare and education throughout her career. Since November 2010, she has served as the Chief Advancement Officer and Executive Director of the Foundation at Fulton-Montgomery Community College (FMCC). In this role, she has led fundraising initiatives that have generated millions for campus projects, scholarships, and programming. Her efforts have provided scholarships and resources to FMCC students.
Lanzi’s leadership contributed to the construction of important projects such as the Allen House, Rao Theater, Raiders Cove, FAM Financial Technology Center, and Cyber Security Range at FMCC. She has built relationships with donors, alumni, and corporate partners to advance educational opportunities.
In 2021, Lanzi received the Juliette Low Women of Distinction Award from the Mohawk Pathways Council of the Girl Scouts for her leadership in healthcare. This award honors women who exemplify leadership and serve as role models.
Before joining FMCC, Lanzi was Director of the Foundation at St. Mary’s Hospital and held a similar position at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital for 14 years. She also served as the first female alderwoman for Amsterdam and is an active member of the Amsterdam Rotary Club.
“Lesley A. Lanzi is a shining example of leadership and dedication in our community,” said Senator Walczyk. “Her tireless efforts to enhance not only healthcare but also education have played a pivotal role in the thriving success of Fulton-Montgomery Community College and the 49th Senate District as a whole.”
