Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown has announced a partnership with Kopp Billing Agency to manage its patient billing services starting May 1, 2025. The decision culminates from a comprehensive search for a partner that aligns with the organization’s vision of enhanced customer service and a patient-centered approach.

Since 2012, Samaritan worked with a different billing service, and this transition to Kopp, well-regarded in New York State, is seen as a significant step. The medical center handles over 10,000 patient billing statements monthly, requiring a reliable partner. During the transition, a five-month overlap will allow for a seamless changeover, as both the current and new partners will handle billing.

Kopp Billing Agency will introduce changes, including different online payment links and remittance addresses, which could pose challenges for patients. Samaritan assures support via their website and phone line: 315-786-4900.

Maxine A. Briggs, Samaritan’s Chief Financial Officer, expressed confidence in Kopp’s ability to enhance the billing experience. “We are confident this change will result in better service, enhanced communication, and a smoother billing process for both our patients and staff.”

For further details, patients can reach Samaritan’s billing support team or visit their website.
