Assemblyman Scott Gray (R-Watertown) attended a community event marking the completion of an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) lift at the Ogdensburg Public Library. The new lift, located on the building’s west side, aims to improve accessibility for all residents.
Gray noted the significance of making public spaces accessible. “The Ogdensburg Public Library is a place where the community comes together, and it’s important that everyone, no matter their mobility, can come through those doors and feel welcome,” Gray said. “I’m grateful I could help support this project with an aid grant, and I know this lift will make a real difference for residents for many years to come.”
Funding for the project came from several sources. Alongside Gray’s aid grant, contributions were made by the bequest of Brendan M. Lynch, the Northern New York Community Foundation, the Daughters of the American Revolution – Swe-Kat-Si Chapter, as well as private donors and volunteers.
Gray acknowledged these efforts in his remarks: “This project wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity and hard work of so many: our local organizations, volunteers and donors. Seeing everyone come together for something that benefits the whole community is incredibly rewarding, and I’m thankful to be part of it.”
