Today, the tenth budget extender has been announced in New York, leaving residents waiting for a resolution. Assemblyman Blankenbush expressed frustration with the current situation, stating that “once again, New Yorkers are left waiting while Albany continues to operate in the dark.” Earlier this week, Governor Hochul claimed that a budget agreement had been reached; however, according to Blankenbush, “clearly, that was not the case.”

Blankenbush emphasized the need for transparency and accountability from state officials. He criticized the delay in finalizing a plan to address pressing issues such as rising costs, crime, and deteriorating infrastructure. He stated that instead of providing solutions, “this administration is stringing along local governments, school districts and working families who are trying to plan their futures.”

The assemblyman called for an end to what he described as misleading actions by the governor. He urged Governor Hochul to deliver a responsible and timely budget that aligns with the priorities of New Yorkers rather than political interests.
