Watertown, NY – Samaritan Medical Center recently announced the recipients of its outstanding workers in long-term care (OWL) Award for February 2025. The awards were given to Certified Nursing Assistant Mercy Goodridge at Samaritan Summit Village and Food Service Worker Chad Wilson at Samaritan Keep Home.
Goodridge was nominated for the OWL Award by a resident who expressed gratitude, saying, “She cares about the details. She is the most gentle and caring person I know. She is patient.”
Meanwhile, Wilson received the nomination from a fellow caregiver, commending his dedication: “Chad shows up every day and gives his all to improve our residents’ meals and lives. His caring nature and dedication make him a valuable employee.”
Both Goodridge and Wilson were honored with certificates and appreciation tokens during ceremonies held at their respective facilities.
The OWL Awards are presented throughout the year, with nominations open to patients, families, and colleagues at any time. More information about the awards program can be found on the Samaritan Health website.
Recognition of caregivers extends to various roles within the Samaritan Long Term Care Services. The staff at Samaritan Summit Village and Samaritan Keep Home provide comprehensive assistance, including around-the-clock nursing care and daily living support. Additionally, Samaritan Summit Village offers assisted living for those requiring minimal help while maintaining independence.
